Metabolic and Redox Regulation of Proteome Plasticity
Cellular differentiation processes go hand in hand with dramatic changes in cellular metabolism. We have discovered a control pathway, which regulates mitochondrial biogenesis e.g. during immune cell differentiation. It might also play a role in other processes requiring a modulation of mitochondrial activity. We currently investigate this pathway in mechanistic detail and explore its physiological consequences. Moreover, we explore the dynamics of organellar proteomes during cell differentiation and redox stress and the underlying mechanisms.
