Redox Signalling and Mitochondria as Signalling Organelles
Signalling processes allow the coordination of processes at cellular and organismal levels. Different signalling cascades exist including those utilizing calcium, AMP or small redox molecules like hydrogen peroxide as signalling molecules. We aim to understand these signalling pathways especially with respect to their function in mito-chondrial biogenesis and function but also with respect to the subcellular fluxes of the signalling molecules.
